About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in agronomy operations at Heritage FS. You will work under the direction of location management during the Summer of 2027 to learn the foundations of the GROWMARK system and the agriculture industry. This role focuses on operational tasks, professional development, and project work to improve business efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Assist with facility and equipment maintenance and repair.
- Visit FS locations and customers to build professional relationships.
- Operate field research and crop monitoring equipment for scouting.
- Apply crop nutrition and crop protection products.
- Gain experience with ordering, receiving, and inventory control.
- Complete a project focused on operational efficiency.
- Submit weekly activity reports and participate in program activities, including an orientation meeting in May 2027.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree or certification program at a community college, technical college, or university with good academic standing.
- A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Capability to work in varying weather conditions and at elevated heights.
- Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight trips.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.

- Location: Rensselaer, Indiana.
- Term: Summer 2027 (minimum 9-10 weeks).
- Modality: On-site, full-time.
- Compensation: $16 per hour, with eligibility for 401(k) participation.
