About the role#
The Exploring Ag Intern role provides hands-on experience in agronomy operations. You will work under the direction of location management to learn the foundation of the industry and prepare for a future career. This position requires regular work in extreme weather conditions and at various heights or elevated platforms.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment.
- Visit FS locations and customers to build professional relationships.
- Operate technology and equipment for field research, crop monitoring, and scouting.
- Apply crop nutrition and crop protection products.
- Gain experience with inventory control, ordering, and receiving.
- Participate in required training regarding company policies, safety procedures, and job requirements.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree or certification from a university, technical college, or community college.
- Must be in good academic standing.
- Ability to lift 51-70 pounds.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to obtain a commercial applicator's license and a CDL.
- Ability to travel independently and overnight when necessary.
