About the role#
Join Legacy Farmers Cooperative as an Agronomy Intern for the Summer of 2027. You will gain hands-on experience supporting agronomy operations and serving farmer-member customers. This role is part of the GROWMARK Internship Program, which includes mentorship, networking, and professional development opportunities. You will also be responsible for completing and presenting a summer internship project.
What you'll do#
- Support agronomy professionals and assist with daily operations.
- Learn about crop production, crop protection, plant nutrition, and agronomic recommendations.
- Conduct field scouting, monitor crop health, and collect data.
- Assist with plot work, field demonstrations, and research trials.
- Use precision agriculture tools and technology.
- Help with product inventory, ordering, and receiving.
- Attend customer visits, grower events, and educational sessions.
- Travel to FS locations to build relationships with customers and partners.
- Follow safety, stewardship, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Participate in all program meetings and events.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree or certification in Agronomy, Agribusiness, Crop and Soil Science, or a related field.
- Good academic standing.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Comfort working in various weather conditions and at elevated heights.
