About the role#
Join Ag-Land FS as an Agronomy Intern for the Summer of 2027. You will gain hands-on experience by supporting agronomy operations and assisting professionals in serving farmer-member customers. This role is part of the GROWMARK Internship Program, which includes mentorship, professional development, networking, and a capstone project.
What you'll do#
- Support agronomy operations and assist professionals in serving farmer-member customers.
- Conduct field scouting, monitor crop health, and collect field data.
- Assist with agronomy trials, plot work, field demonstrations, and research projects.
- Utilize precision agriculture tools and technology for data collection.
- Support product inventory, ordering, and receiving.
- Participate in customer visits, grower events, and educational opportunities.
- Travel to various locations to build relationships with employees and industry partners.
- Complete a summer internship project and present your findings.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree or certification in agriculture from a community college, technical college, or university.
- A genuine interest in agronomy and crop production.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in varying weather conditions, including work at elevated heights.
- A valid driver's license and a willingness to travel, including occasional overnight trips.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Tremont, Illinois.
- The internship is full-time and on-site.
- The program runs for a minimum of 12 weeks, starting May 24, 2027.
- You must attend three required internship events: an orientation in Bloomington on May 24-25, a mid-summer meeting on June 28-30, and a conclusion meeting in Bloomington on August 11-12.
