About the role#
Join Gateway FS as an Agronomy Intern for the Summer of 2027. You will gain experience supporting agronomy operations and serving farmer-member customers. The role includes participating in the GROWMARK Internship Program, which features mentorship, professional development, networking, and a capstone project.
What you'll do#
- Support agronomy operations and assist professionals in serving farmer-member customers.
- Conduct field scouting, monitor crop health, and collect field data.
- Assist with agronomy trials, plot work, field demonstrations, and research projects.
- Use precision agriculture tools and technology for data collection.
- Support product inventory, ordering, and receiving.
- Participate in customer visits, grower events, and educational opportunities.
- Complete and present a summer internship project.
- Travel to various locations to build relationships with employees and industry partners.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree or certification from a community college, technical college, or university.
- Strong interest in agronomy, crop production, and agriculture.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and at various heights.
- Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Must have, or be able to obtain, a Class B Non-CDL license.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Location & details#
- Location: Baldwin, Illinois.
- Term: Summer 2027, starting no later than May 24, 2027.
- Commitment: Full-time for a minimum of 12 weeks.
- Compensation: $20 per hour.
- Benefits: Participation in the 401(k) plan is available.
- Attendance: Required to attend three internship events in May, June, and August 2027.
