About the role#
As an Agronomy Intern with GRAINCO FS, you will gain hands-on experience supporting agronomy operations and serving farmer-member customers. You will develop knowledge in crop production, plant nutrition, and precision agriculture while participating in the GROWMARK Internship Program. This program includes professional development, networking, and a capstone project.
What you'll do#
- Support agronomy professionals with daily operations and customer service.
- Conduct field scouting to monitor crop health and gather data.
- Assist with agronomy trials, research projects, and field demonstrations.
- Use precision agriculture tools and technology for data collection.
- Support product inventory, ordering, and receiving.
- Participate in customer visits and grower events.
- Complete and present a summer internship project.
- Travel to various locations to build relationships with partners and employees.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree or certification in Agronomy, Agribusiness, Crop and Soil Science, or a related field.
- Preference for students entering their Junior or Senior year.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work a minimum of 12 weeks during the summer.
- Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight trips.
