About the role#
Griffith Company offers a paid summer internship within our Landscape Division. This program provides students with hands-on experience in heavy civil construction. Interns work alongside project managers, estimators, and field personnel to handle real-world tasks. You will have access to mentorship, training sessions, and visits to active construction projects.
What you'll do#
- Perform job site administration and documentation.
- Assist in developing and maintaining a Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule.
- Track submittals, RFI’s, contract change orders, daily costs, and project logs.
- Attend bid review meetings with the estimating team.
- Review proposal specifications, drawings, soils reports, and site conditions.
- Complete material and quantity take-offs.
- Assist superintendents and foremen with layout and technical requirements.
- Help with diesel emissions control plans and monitoring.
- Prepare work plans and storm water protection plans.
- Perform additional assignments as directed by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program.
- Academic focus in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Landscape Construction, Landscape Design, Landscape Horticulture, Ornamental Horticulture, or a closely related field.

- Compensation: $22.00 to $27.00 per hour, depending on experience.
