About the role#
The Communications Co-op reports to the Employee Engagement and Communications Specialist within the Human Resources team. This role supports the delivery of internal communications and employee engagement initiatives across the organization. You will work on a variety of projects, maintain intranet content, and assist with employee onboarding and recognition programs.
What you'll do#
- Draft internal communications, including emails, announcements, and updates.
- Create and publish content for intranet platforms such as news posts and department pages.
- Coordinate and execute employee engagement events, including seasonal campaigns and spotlight series.
- Identify and recommend improvements for communication channels, particularly for on-site employees.
- Support onboarding communications for new employees and assist with HR and business initiatives.
- Manage the communications and engagement calendar to ensure consistent messaging.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a postsecondary program for Communications, Public Health, Human Resources, Business Administration, or Marketing.
- Experience creating content for digital platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Canva.
- Familiarity with SharePoint or similar content management tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment.
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
