About the role#
The Communications Co-op reports to the Employee Engagement and Communications Specialist within the Human Resources team. This position supports internal communications and employee engagement initiatives across the organization. You will assist with drafting updates, maintaining intranet content, and coordinating engagement events while working with cross-functional partners.
What you'll do#
- Draft employee communications such as emails and announcements.
- Create and publish content for intranet platforms, including news posts and department pages.
- Coordinate and execute employee engagement events like recognition days and seasonal campaigns.
- Identify ways to improve communication channels, specifically for on-site employees.
- Support onboarding communications for new employees and during acquisitions.
- Manage the communications and engagement calendar to ensure consistent messaging.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a postsecondary program for Communications, Public Relations, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Experience creating content for digital platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Canva.
- Familiarity with SharePoint or similar tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and handle physical tasks, including lifting up to 25lbs.

- Compensation: $20 to $23 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
