About the role#
The Communications Co-op reports to the Employee Engagement and Communications Specialist within the Human Resources team. This role supports internal communications and employee engagement initiatives across the organization. You will work closely with HR and cross-functional partners to maintain communication channels and support various business projects.
What you'll do#
- Draft employee communications, including emails, announcements, and internal updates.
- Support the creation and publishing of content for intranet platforms, such as news posts and department pages.
- Coordinate and execute employee engagement events, including recognition days, spotlight series, and seasonal campaigns.
- Identify opportunities to improve communication channels, particularly for on-site employees.
- Support onboarding communications for new employees and assist with acquisition integration.
- Manage and maintain the communications and engagement calendar to ensure consistent messaging.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a postsecondary program in Communications, Public Relations, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Experience in content creation for digital platforms, such as intranets, newsletters, or social media.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Canva.
- Familiarity with SharePoint or similar content management tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
