About the role#
As a Data Governance Analyst Intern, you will join our Data Governance team to gain hands-on experience with our internal data operations. You will work directly with business users, Data Stewards, and technology teams to help mature our data governance processes and tools. This role offers the opportunity to work full-time during the summer and part-time during the academic year, with a flexible schedule to match your classes.
What you'll do#
- Support the administration and operation of our Data Governance Framework.
- Document metadata, business terms, data definitions, and ownership information for critical business artifacts.
- Perform metadata discovery and data lineage analysis using governance tools.
- Develop and monitor data quality rules, controls, and metrics.
- Manage governance workflows, including artifact intake, status tracking, and issue management.
- Create training materials, user guides, and process documentation.
- Assist with the testing and adoption of new data governance capabilities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve governance-related issues.
- Use Microsoft Office and AI tools like Microsoft Copilot to research information and improve efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an Associate's degree in technology, analytics, business, or a related field.
- An entry-level understanding of IT fundamentals, concepts, and processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Familiarity with SharePoint and web browsers.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate within a team.
- Experience with AI-powered productivity tools like Microsoft Copilot is preferred.

- This is an on-site position located in either Cedar Rapids, Iowa, or Des Moines, Iowa.
- The role is paid and full-time during the summer, with part-time flexibility during the school year.
