About the role#
As a Service Desk Analyst Intern, you will join our team to gain hands-on experience in IT support. You will work directly with internal users to resolve technical issues and fulfill service requests. This role involves a heavy focus on ticket triage, troubleshooting, and supporting technology enhancements. You will work full-time during the summer and part-time during the academic year, with a schedule that accommodates your classes.
What you'll do#
- Complete our onboard training process and onsite training classes.
- Investigate user incidents using active listening and critical thinking.
- Communicate with users in plain language to understand the urgency of their requests.
- Support users through phone, email, remote-control tools, and desk-side visits.
- Document tickets and escalate issues according to established parameters.
- Install, upgrade, and repair endpoint equipment and line-of-business applications.
- Execute physical desk moves and handle hardware disposal securely.
- Monitor alerts and route tasks to the correct IT work groups.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in an IT-related field.
- Foundational knowledge of IT concepts, platforms, and industry terminology.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows 10 or higher, Microsoft Office, and web browsers like Edge and Chrome.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
- A detail-oriented mindset with a focus on problem-solving.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and handle conflict resolution.
- Proficiency in using a computer as a primary productivity tool.

- This position is based on-site in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
- The role is paid and functions on a rolling term basis.
