About the role#
Great Plains Manufacturing is hiring Manufacturing Engineer Interns for the Summer 2027 program. You will work full-time on-site in Salina, Kansas, from mid-May through early August. This role pays $20 per hour and follows a 4-day work week, Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Housing is available for interns who live outside the local area. You will participate in social activities throughout the summer to connect with other interns and employees.
What you'll do#
- Complete a specific project alongside a mentor and peers.
- Apply your college coursework to real-world tasks.
- Gain practical experience in manufacturing agricultural or construction equipment.
- Work closely with other engineers and production floor team members.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor degree program for Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Ag Systems, or a related engineering major.
- Completion of at least 30 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- Ability to work full-time on-site.
- Willingness to live within commuting distance of the assigned location.
- Valid driver license and reliable transportation.
- Proficiency in MS Office programs like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Basic knowledge of CAD software is helpful.
- Strong project management, organization, and planning skills.
- Effective communication skills and a team player mindset.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States and completion of Form I-9.
