About the role#
As a Design Engineer intern, you will work from one of our research and development facilities in the Salina, Kansas area. You will be assigned a specific project focused on the design of agricultural or construction equipment. You will work alongside a mentor and peers to apply your classroom knowledge to real-world engineering challenges.
What you'll do#
- Complete a hands-on project with guidance from a mentor.
- Gain practical experience in the design of construction or agricultural machinery.
- Collaborate with engineers and production floor team members.
- Participate in organized summer events to connect with other interns and employees.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Ag Systems, or a related engineering field.
- Completion of at least 30 credit hours before the internship begins.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Basic knowledge of CAD software.
- Strong project management, organization, and planning skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- A positive approach to problem-solving and critical thinking.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Location & details#
- Location: Salina, Kansas.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: Full-time, 40 hours per week, on-site.
- Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Compensation: $20 per hour.
- Housing: Provided for interns living outside the local area.
