About the role#
KBTX News is looking for a Digital Innovation Fellow to join our newsroom. In this part-time position, you will work for one year with our digital team. You will focus on building sustainable strategies to share local news with new and nontraditional audiences. You will also develop digital and streaming projects to increase our cross-platform viewership.
What you'll do#
- Create strategies for reaching new audiences with local news.
- Design digital and streaming projects to boost viewership.
- Write accurate, editorially sound news stories using AP Style.
- Produce compelling content for all digital platforms, including our website and streaming apps.
- Respond quickly and efficiently to developing news and breaking stories.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or related field, or you are currently in your final year of a program.
- Excellent writing and copy-editing skills with a strong grasp of AP Style.
- Experience with video editing and video sourcing.
- Familiarity with content management systems.
- Ability to work effectively with editors, producers, and other news staff.

- The position is part-time and requires on-site work.
- This is a paid fellowship.
