About the role#
The Project Engineer Internship at Granite Construction is a paid, part-time opportunity for the Summer 2027 term. This position supports construction engineering operations to ensure all work meets established engineering standards. You will work on-site in a safety-sensitive environment.
What you'll do#
- Interpret design drawings for workforce and bidding needs.
- Prepare and distribute status reports, punch lists, and sketches to your supervisor.
- Provide technical support regarding project materials, delivery dates, and construction schedules.
- Assist with change orders and estimates, including preparing drawings to support job requirements.
- Develop data such as quantity take-offs and material pricing.
- Maintain accurate records of quantities for work performed and materials installed.
- Support and comply with corporate safety initiatives.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Progress toward a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 0 to 2 years of experience in construction estimating, engineering, or field support.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to perform trigonometric calculations.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to drive.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
