About the role#
As an Assistant Project Engineer Intern, you will work on-site to support project managers and field teams. This internship provides a realistic experience where you take on meaningful responsibilities and contribute to active construction projects.
What you'll do#
- Support project documentation, scheduling, and daily coordination tasks.
- Review project drawings and specifications to ensure they meet project goals and industry standards.
- Track project progress by documenting daily logs, material deliveries, and completed work.
- Participate in on-site meetings to observe real-time problem-solving and decision-making.
- Prepare RFIs and submittals to keep project milestones on track.
- Help maintain safety standards by monitoring and reporting on-site conditions.
- Work with subcontractors and suppliers to support procurement and logistics.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor degree in building construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with a focus on leading by example.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and a self-starter mentality.
- A strong work ethic and dedication to meeting deadlines.
- Ability to balance big-picture goals with attention to detail.
- Comfort with technology and a willingness to learn new software.
- Ability to work full-time.
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to build rapport with diverse individuals.
- Proficiency in construction management software such as ProCore, ViewPoint, or Microsoft Project.
