About the role#
This internship provides students currently pursuing a two-year Machine Tool Technology degree with hands-on manufacturing experience. You will work alongside skilled machinists to learn equipment operation, troubleshooting, and production processes. This role is a full-time, paid position based in Anoka, Minnesota.
What you'll do#
- Operate assigned machinery within the department.
- Learn simple setups and troubleshooting techniques under supervision.
- Verify part quality using hard gauging and CMM equipment.
- Perform periodic quality checks according to operation layouts.
- Package, wash, and deburr parts as directed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Take responsibility for the quality of parts produced.
- Support team members across all shifts to meet department expectations.
- Follow all safety rules and requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a two-year Machine Tool Technology program.
- Good standing with your school, maintaining a C average or better.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to comply with all safety regulations.
- Physical capability to sit for 1 hour, stand for 3 hours, and walk for 4 hours during an 8-hour shift.
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, and perform repetitive elbow movements.
- Ability to occasionally use stairs, crouch, kneel, and reach above the shoulder.
- Ability to lift and load up to 45 lbs or greater.
- Proficiency in simple grasping, firm grasping, and fine manipulation with both hands.
