About the role#
Graco offers a rolling internship program for students pursuing degrees in Machine Tool Technology or mechanic and maintenance-related fields. This role provides hands-on manufacturing experience, allowing you to work on advanced equipment and support daily operations. You will gain exposure to either machining processes or equipment maintenance while working alongside experienced professionals.
What you'll do#
Depending on your focus, you will contribute to the following activities:
- Operate assigned machinery and learn troubleshooting techniques under supervision.
- Perform quality checks on parts using hard gauging and CMM equipment.
- Package, wash, and deburr parts according to operation layouts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following inspection requirements.
- Work on active work orders, including CNC machines, test benches, and automation equipment.
- Train with maintenance staff to learn repair procedures, search for parts, and manage storage areas.
- Collaborate with team members across shifts to meet department expectations.
- Adhere to all safety rules and utilize required personal protective equipment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a two-year Machine Tool Technology or mechanic-related program, such as electrical, electronics, hydraulics, fluid power, or robotics.
- Good academic standing with a C average or better.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Commitment to following all safety guidelines and requirements.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for long periods, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 45 pounds.
