You will support the development of an analog high-voltage battery control box training and test rig. This platform helps train engineers and technicians on safety fundamentals and characterizes subsystems before vehicle integration. You will work with experienced electrical engineers on safety-critical design, high-voltage PCB layout, and commissioning practices for Formula 1 power units.

    What you'll do#

    • Support schematic capture and component selection for the discrete-analog high-voltage safety path.
    • Assist with PCB layout reviews to ensure high-voltage creepage and clearance compliance.
    • Help document design margins and test results.
    • Draft and pilot-test procedures for high-voltage training modules.
    • Participate in bench testing and data collection during rig commissioning.
    • Support characterization studies on high-voltage subsystems.

    • Strong attention to detail and disciplined documentation habits.
    • Experience with PCB design tools like Altium or KiCad.
    • Familiarity with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and bench power supplies.
    • Exposure to high-voltage or battery systems through coursework or projects.
    • Knowledge of IEC 60664 or similar electrical safety standards.
    • Interest in motorsport, hybrid systems, or electric powertrains.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Concord, North Carolina.
    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • This is a paid, full-time internship position.
