About the role#
The IT Support Technician Intern provides technical support for desktop hardware, software, and related technologies. You will assist with troubleshooting, issue resolution, and managing service requests to ensure a reliable technology environment. This role involves hands-on experience in asset management and IT operations, working alongside technology teams to deliver effective user support.
What you'll do#
- Maintain, configure, and implement desktop computing hardware and software.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and manage trouble tickets.
- Conduct research and development on future technologies.
- Track hardware, software, and licensing inventory.
- Maintain the ITS lab, storage areas, and spare equipment inventory.
- Keep records of borrowed lab and storage room equipment.
- Perform other assigned duties while following company policies.
What you'll need#
- Current student pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or Statistics.
- Minimum 3.0 overall GPA, with Junior or Senior classification preferred.
- 1-2 years of related experience or training in enterprise technical support.
- Support-level knowledge of Windows 10 or iOS.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts like TCP/IP, Subnetting, Routing, DHCP, and DNS.
- In-depth knowledge of PC hardware and software.
- Ability to use AI tools like Microsoft Copilot and evaluate AI outputs for accuracy and bias.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to change and work effectively in teams.
- Working toward professional certifications such as A+ or NET+ is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Arlington, Texas.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 26th to August 6th).
- Modality: Hybrid (2 days a week in office).
- Employment: Full-time, paid internship.
