    About the role#

    The Risk Consumer Intern supports consumer risk and portfolio management activities. You will assist with data analysis, reporting, and monitoring portfolio performance. This role involves identifying trends, evaluating credit risk metrics, and developing insights to support business decisions. You will gain exposure to credit risk strategy and analytics while collaborating with internal partners on various reporting initiatives.

    What you'll do#

    • Support data analysis, validation, and reporting to ensure information is accurate and actionable.
    • Assist with portfolio performance reporting, including analysis of trends, results, and key business drivers.
    • Identify business questions and translate them into data-driven analysis.
    • Create, update, and improve reports for internal business partners and management.
    • Collaborate with team members to understand reporting needs, summarize findings, and communicate analysis.
    • Contribute to multiple projects while developing prioritization and time management skills.
    • Build cross-functional relationships across the organization.
    • Prepare and deliver an end-of-internship presentation to senior leaders.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
    • At least one semester remaining upon the start of the internship.
    • Minimum 3.0 overall GPA.
    • Strong analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience with presentations.
    • Ability to work independently or in a team setting.
    • Detail-oriented approach with the ability to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to use AI tools like Microsoft Copilot for daily work.
    • Experience evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias.
    • Understanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protection.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Detroit, Michigan.
    • Term: Summer 2027 (May 26 to August 6, 2027).
    • Work Modality: Hybrid (2 days per week in office).
    • Compensation: Paid position.
