About the role#
GlobalFoundries is seeking a Reliability Test Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term at Fab 8 in Malta, New York. This full-time position supports the Reliability Engineering team in advanced technology characterization. You will contribute to wafer-level and package-level testing, test automation, and equipment operation while working alongside FEOL, BEOL, and Product Reliability teams.
What you'll do#
- Support the development and maintenance of test programs and capabilities.
- Assist with wafer-level and package-level reliability testing.
- Run electrical measurements using semi-automatic and fully automatic probers.
- Collect and analyze test data to ensure accurate and timely results.
- Troubleshoot measurement or equipment issues as they arise.
- Document findings for engineering review.
- Support laboratory organization, equipment calibration, and preventive maintenance.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams on technology development and qualification.
- Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as at least a sophomore in a Bachelor program for Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related field.
- A minimum overall 3.0 GPA.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week.
- Programming experience with Python, C#, C++, or Visual Basic.
- Coursework or lab experience regarding semiconductor devices, circuits, reliability, or electrical characterization.
- Familiarity with probers or electrical test equipment.
- Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills.
- Prior internship or co-op experience.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in school or work projects.
- Interest in using AI tools to streamline workflows.
- Project management skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity.
