About the role#
The RF/mm-Wave Reference Design Team is seeking an Electrical Engineering student for a Fall 2026 internship. You will work on solving circuit problems and contribute to internal test chips and MPWs. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Richardson, Texas.
What you'll do#
- Design and tape-out mm-Wave reference circuits.
- Perform schematic design, physical layout, and parasitic extractions.
- Run pre-layout, post-layout, and Electro-Magnetic (EM) simulations.
- Optimize circuits to meet performance requirements.
- Collaborate with design leads on multiple projects at once.
- Maintain safety standards and follow all environmental, health, and security programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an MS or PhD program in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Understanding of transistor-level circuit design.
- Experience with RF/mm-Wave circuit design.
- Proficiency with Cadence-based EDA tools.
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Preferred: Knowledge of RF transceiver building blocks like PA, LNA, VCO, PLL, MIX, and VGA.
- Preferred: Familiarity with RF CMOS technologies such as Bulk or SOI.
- Preferred: Prior internship or co-op experience, leadership background, and project management skills.
