About the role#
GlobalFoundries is seeking a Field Application Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will provide technical support to customers, assisting with technology evaluations that lead to design wins, design-ins, and successful tapeout outcomes. This is a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Learn about GF technology offerings and their specific features from subject matter experts.
- Work with internal teams to match technology solutions with customer requirements.
- Assist customers with technical evaluations and tapeout execution.
- Produce technical documentation that explains how GF technology addresses market and application needs.
- Follow all safety, environmental, health, and security programs while performing your work.
What you'll need#
- You are at least a sophomore pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- You maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and are in good academic standing.
- You have the ability to work 40 hours per week.
- You possess strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Coursework in Circuit Design, Semiconductor Device Physics, or Materials Science is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, EDA tools, and Linux is required.
- We value project management skills, the ability to navigate ambiguity, and an interest in using AI tools to improve workflows.
- Prior internship or co-op experience and demonstrated leadership experience are preferred.

- Locations: Austin, Texas; Richardson, Texas; or Santa Clara, California.
