You will support the development and implementation of an inline methodology to assess risks associated with critical back-end-of-line defects in automotive products. This role involves connecting manufacturing defect data with reliability physics to create actionable monitoring insights and product-relevant risk metrics.

    What you'll do#

    • Learn the fundamentals of BEOL reliability, semiconductor failure mechanisms, inline defect monitoring, and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis.
    • Analyze inline defect data and scanning electron microscope images to evaluate manufacturing defects.
    • Connect observed defect types with BEOL degradation mechanisms to assess reliability criticality.
    • Perform statistical analysis to understand risk drivers and estimate defective-parts-per-million.
    • Develop data-analysis and visualization tools or dashboards to communicate defect trends and risk.
    • Support the development of monitoring methodologies for automotive products.
    • Collaborate with Reliability Engineering, Contamination-Free Manufacturing, and Process Integration teams.

    • English language fluency.
    • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week.
    • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and within a cross-functional team.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Malta, New York.
    • Term: Summer 2027.
