About the role#
As an intern in the Process Chemistry department, you will join an integrated team focused on small molecule process development. You will gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art techniques and equipment while contributing to meaningful projects. This role provides exposure to pharmaceutical process research, green chemistry, process safety, and engineering as applied to scale-up.
What you'll do#
- Design and execute synthetic chemistry experiments under general supervision.
- Conduct research on the synthesis of pharmaceutically relevant and drug-like molecules using modern organic synthesis techniques.
- Analyze experimental results and document your work using an electronic laboratory notebook.
- Maintain a safe laboratory environment at all times.
- Summarize and present ongoing research activities to project teams.
- Deliver a final presentation on your work near the conclusion of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, MBA, JD, or PhD program at a nationally accredited U.S. university, with continued full-time enrollment in the following Fall semester.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
- Ability to commit to a full-time, 10 to 12-week internship between May and August 2027.
- Independent authorization to work in the United States now and in the future.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A demonstrated commitment to inclusion and diversity.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Preferred: Undergraduate degree level, a background in Chemistry, and prior research experience including familiarity with TLC, NMR, HPLC, crystallization, and distillation.
