About the role#
Ghafari Associates is hiring a Structural Engineering intern for the summer of 2027. You will work in our Chicago office from May through August. This is a full-time, paid position where you will assist our engineering team with design documentation and digital modeling.
What you'll do#
- Create engineering documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Work with project engineers to define design data needs and project guidelines.
- Provide limited design input and detail documentation.
- Make corrections and prepare final documents for review.
- Coordinate sections and disciplines to resolve production problems.
- Produce 3D digital design models.
- Deploy team-oriented problem solving.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program for civil or structural engineering.
- Completion of at least two years of coursework.
- Working proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to take initiative and follow direction.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous internship or co-op experience is a plus.

- Pay: $22.00 to $26.00 per hour.
