About the role#
This is a paid, full-time co-op or internship position based on-site in Selkirk, Manitoba. You will join the recycling team to gain hands-on experience in steel manufacturing. The role involves a mix of office-based design work and field-based project management.
What you'll do#
- Update facility and equipment drawings.
- Collaborate with outside consultants and vendors.
- Support the management of contractors.
- Assist engineers with capex improvement projects.
- Take ownership of smaller non-capex projects.
- Plan maintenance tasks and handle parts ordering.
- Execute various design projects.
What you'll need#
- Completed at least two years of a mechanical degree or enrollment in the Mechanical Engineering Technology program at RRC Polytech.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5, though 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks design software.
- Experience with AutoCAD is an asset.
- A history of leadership in extra-curricular activities or student organizations.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
- Strong communication skills and a detail-oriented approach to organization.
- The ability to work independently and learn new processes quickly.
