About the role#
Gerdau offers a paid summer internship program called G.Start. This program focuses on project-based work to prepare students for future technical and managerial roles. You will work within the Melt Shop, Rolling Mill, or Quality departments.
What you'll do#
- Complete project-focused tasks to build your technical and professional skills.
- Apply engineering tools including AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Demonstrate leadership potential and problem-solving abilities.
- Learn to use Microsoft suite and gain exposure to CAPEX processes.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate status entering your Junior or Senior year.
- Enrollment in a Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Chemical, Materials Science, or Metallurgy Engineering degree program.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5, though 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Legal authorization to work full-time in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

- The position is on-site and full-time.
- The term for this role is Summer 2027.
