About the role#
Geon Performance Solutions offers a practical learning experience for students pursuing degrees in engineering or materials science. You will work under the supervision of a mentor to assist with projects related to process improvement, product testing, data analysis, and technical documentation. This role provides exposure to manufacturing processes, quality systems, and research initiatives while helping you develop professional competencies.
What you'll do#
- Support technical projects involving process optimization, testing, or data collection.
- Conduct laboratory or production floor work while following safety and quality protocols.
- Assist engineers with data entry, equipment setup, sampling, and experimental trials.
- Collect and analyze operational or experimental data to support improvement initiatives.
- Document results, observations, and technical reports.
- Participate in problem-solving sessions and continuous improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Quality, and Operations.
- Prepare presentations or summaries of technical findings.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Materials Science engineering.
- Strong academic performance in technical coursework.
- Previous internship, co-op, or laboratory experience is preferred.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, product development, or testing methods.
- Ability to apply analytical thinking to identify root causes.
- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
- Technical curiosity and a willingness to learn new tools.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal collaboration abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Detail-oriented approach with the ability to follow procedures and safety guidelines.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
