About the role#
We are hiring a Business Application Support Engineer Intern to join our Business Applications Support team. You will work alongside experienced engineers to maintain business operations and gain hands-on experience in IT service management. This is a full-time, paid internship based at our headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama.
What you'll do#
- Learn our internal application support processes.
- Help resolve application incidents while working to meet service level agreements.
- Use ITSM tools like ServiceNow to track and manage tasks.
- Use GenAI tools to troubleshoot, test, and monitor code and applications.
- Create and update user guides and support documentation.
- Shadow senior engineers to learn how to deploy and manage applications.
- Use low-code or no-code platforms to automate tasks and standardize solutions.
- Engage with stakeholders and escalate technical issues when necessary.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS degree program for Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills.
- An interest in learning IT service management practices and application support.
- Basic knowledge of SQL, scripting, or programming languages is helpful but not required.
- A willingness to learn and solve problems.
