About the role#
As an Autonomous Driving System Integration and Validation Intern, you will work on the software and hardware systems that power autonomous vehicles. You will collaborate with engineers across the AV Platform team to bring up complex systems, build test automation, and analyze results to ensure reliable performance in real-world environments.
What you'll do#
- Execute functional bring-up and system integration on subsystem and system benches.
- Evaluate system interactions across compute platforms, ECUs, sensors, and vehicle software.
- Run functional, performance, and validation tests using simulation, HIL, SIL, benches, and on-road fleets.
- Develop Python-based automation and supporting tools to improve testing efficiency.
- Analyze test data, document results, and support root-cause investigations.
- Create datasets, scenario libraries, and automated test pipelines.
- Identify problem statements, outline solutions, and account for tradeoffs and edge cases.
- Participate in technical discussions, test planning, design reviews, and cross-functional problem-solving.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, systems, safety, and vehicle engineering teams.
- Communicate test results, technical findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a full-time, degree-seeking program.
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related STEM field.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and August 2029, with at least one additional term of school remaining after the internship.
- Experience programming in C++, Python, or another object-oriented language.
- Interest in working with hardware, embedded systems, system integration, and automated testing.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across technical teams.
- Availability to work full-time for the 12-week summer internship period.
