About the role#
As a Machine Learning Engineer intern, you will contribute to the software foundation and engineering tools that power our autonomous driving and driver-assistance systems. You will work within the AV/AI Platform organization to improve the reliability, latency, and speed of our AI training and deployment workflows. This position is a full-time, 12-week summer internship.
What you'll do#
- Develop and optimize our AI training platform by improving data processing pipelines.
- Accelerate model training and inference workflows.
- Enhance testing infrastructure and support tool development, instrumentation, and system monitoring.
- Build scalable infrastructure to support model deployment to edge devices.
- Gather requirements and assist in creating feature roadmaps.
- Write code in collaboration with the engineering team.
- Adapt machine learning methods to function within parallel environments, including distributed clusters and GPUs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a full-time degree program pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, engineering, or a related STEM field.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and August 2029, with at least one additional term of school remaining after the internship.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the 12-week summer program.
- A strong foundation in algorithms and data structures.
- Proficiency in C++, Python, or another object-oriented programming language.
- Demonstrated experience in artificial intelligence or machine learning through coursework, projects, or research.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work across teams.

- Modality: Hybrid (expected to report to the office up to three times per week).
