About the role#
This internship focuses on Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS), including facilities and maintenance operations. You will support efforts to protect the safety of GE Aerospace employees, the public, and the environment. This role involves gaining a deep understanding of EHS management systems and frameworks while working to solve real-world manufacturing challenges.
What you'll do#
- Perform industrial hygiene, hazard assessments, and risk abatement tasks.
- Manage environmental compliance, including wastewater management, waste disposal, and air regulations.
- Address safety concerns and manage ergonomics within the facility.
- Coach employees and teams to develop sustainable processes and structures that meet EHS requirements.
- Support sustainability efforts related to wastewater and air in manufacturing processes.
- Contribute to occupational health and wellness initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Prior GE Aerospace internship experience is required.
- Enrollment in a full-time, nationally accredited bachelor or graduate program.
- A minimum cumulative 3.0 G.P.A. on a 4.0 scale.
- Ability to prove status as a U.S. Person, as this role requires access to export-controlled information.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screen.
- Reliable transportation, as public transit may not be available at all sites.
- Preferred majors include Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
