The World News Internship – Fall 2026

About the role#

The World is a nationally distributed weekday radio public affairs program co-produced by GBH and PRX. This internship offers the opportunity to work alongside broadcast professionals to learn the intricacies of reporting and producing short and long-format audio stories. Interns will gain hands-on experience across digital platforms, including web, social media, and YouTube.

What you'll do#

• Assist producers and editors with the daily editorial process.
• Develop story ideas and conduct research across all beats.
• Organize and secure stories from the audio library.
• Write and prepare web stories.
• Create content for social media and YouTube.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program.
• Excellent research, writing, and organizational skills.
• Interest in global issues regarding culture, science, and history.
• Experience with Adobe Audition, Creative Cloud software, or other editing tools.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple projects.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
• Majors preferred: Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or Political Science.

Location & details#

• Term: Fall 2026 (September 14th to December 4th).
• Modality: Remote.
• Compensation: Paid at $17 per hour.
• Requirements: Candidates must have their own computer and access to Wi-Fi, and must have work authorization for the United States.
