GBH News - The Culture Show Internship - Fall 2026

About the role#

The Culture Show intern will support the production of a daily, live arts and culture radio show hosted by Jared Bowen, Edgar B. Herwick III, and Callie Crossley. This role provides hands-on experience in radio production and broadcasting, with opportunities to assist with live broadcasts at the Boston Public Library.

What you'll do#

• Conduct in-depth background research and identify potential sources.
• Assist in booking guests for the show.
• Support social media outreach efforts.
• Record and pull sound from various sources for on-air use.
• Prepare materials, including scripts and research packets.
• Assist with live broadcast operations.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Art, or a related field.
• Ability to perform in-depth research.
• Familiarity with recording devices and audio editing software.
• A strong interest in arts, culture, and entertainment.
• Access to a personal computer and reliable Wi-Fi.

Location & details#

• Location: Boston, Massachusetts (1 Guest Street).
• Modality: Hybrid. Staff are required to work onsite at least two days per week, specifically Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
• Term: Fall 2026 (September 14th to December 4th).
• Compensation: This is a paid, part-time internship at $17 per hour.
