Frontline Marketing and Communications Internship

About the role#

FRONTLINE is seeking an intern to join the team for the Fall 2026 semester. This role focuses on audience development, including data and audience insights, publicity, communications, search, social media, and influencer engagement. Interns will work on daily tasks that support the series' operations while contributing to discussions on innovative ways to connect with new and existing audiences. You will also develop at least one semester-long project that contributes to the team's strategic goals.

What you'll do#

• Conduct media and influencer research.
• Track industry trends and perform social media listening.
• Create social media graphics using Photoshop and Canva.
• Draft social media copy and build public relations reports.
• Assist in the ongoing sorting and tagging of archival social posts.
• Perform social data analysis to inform strategy.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field.
• Strong research, writing, presentation, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated sound news judgment and a keen eye for detail, proofreading, and copyediting.
• Curiosity about audience behavior and tendencies across various media types and platforms.
• Ability to work effectively in a demanding environment.
• Access to your own computer and Wi-Fi.
• Valid work authorization for the United States.

Location & details#

• Term: Fall 2026 (September 14th – December 4th).
• Location: Boston, Massachusetts.
• Modality: Hybrid. Staff are required to work onsite at least two days per week, specifically every Tuesday and Wednesday.
• Compensation: This is a paid, part-time internship at $17.00 per hour.
