About the role#
GBA is looking for an Electrical Engineer Intern to join the Mission Critical team in Lenexa, Kansas. You will work on the design of mechanical and electrical systems for data centers, telecommunications, and industrial facilities. This role provides the chance to work alongside architects, engineers, commissioning specialists, and project managers on an integrated team. This is a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Prepare construction documents for various systems.
- Review shop drawings and RFIs.
- Verify permitting and code requirements.
- Conduct facility evaluations and engineering studies.
- Assist with troubleshooting and commissioning.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited program.
- Completed at least two years of school.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Active involvement in campus, community, or volunteer organizations.
- A 2.7 GPA is strongly preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Excel is preferred.
- Prior internship or related experience is a plus.
