About the role#
As a Roadway Engineering Intern, you will join our team to gain experience on real client projects. You will work alongside experienced engineers who provide mentorship and guidance throughout your time with us. This position runs from mid-May through mid-August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Create engineering and construction drawings using MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, or AutoCAD.
- Perform fundamental engineering tasks, including basic calculations and data entry into analysis software.
- Participate in field assignments, such as roadway and highway inspections.
- Support project phases by reviewing drawings, proofreading reports, and handling related engineering tasks.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ABET-accredited undergraduate or graduate program for Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest or prior internship experience in Roadway and Highway Engineering.
- Basic proficiency in CAD, spreadsheets, interpreting design drawings, and technical writing.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Working proficiency in CAD software like AutoCAD, MicroStation, or OpenRoads Designer is preferred.
- Experience with design software such as Civil 3D and HEC-RAS is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: El Paso, Texas.
- Schedule: Full-time during the summer term.
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Compensation: $21.00 to $28.00 per hour, depending on experience.
- Note: This position requires the successful completion of a criminal background check.
