About the role#
This internship provides experience in roadway and highway engineering. You will work with a team of engineers and professionals on projects that support transportation infrastructure. The program runs from mid-May through mid-August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Create engineering and construction drawings using MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, or AutoCAD.
- Conduct basic engineering calculations and input data into analysis software.
- Participate in field assignments, including inspections of roadways and highways.
- Review drawings, proofread reports, and perform general engineering support tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest or prior internship experience in Roadway and Highway Engineering.
- Basic proficiency in CAD, spreadsheets, technical writing, and interpreting design drawings.
- Working proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or OpenRoads Designer.
- Experience with engineering analysis and design software like Civil 3D or HEC-RAS.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and a self-motivated approach to teamwork.
