About the role#
As a Roadway Engineering Intern, you will join our team to support a variety of infrastructure projects. You will work under the guidance and mentorship of experienced engineers to gain practical experience in the field. This is a paid, full-time internship based in East Brunswick, New Jersey.
What you'll do#
- Create engineering and construction drawings using MicroStation or AutoCAD.
- Conduct basic engineering calculations and input data into analysis software.
- Participate in field assignments, including inspections of roadways and highways.
- Review project drawings and proofread technical reports.
- Perform general engineering support tasks to assist project teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited undergraduate or graduate program in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest or prior internship experience in Roadway and Highway Engineering.
- Basic proficiency in CAD, spreadsheets, technical writing, and interpreting design drawings.
- Working proficiency in CAD software like AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- Experience with engineering analysis and design software, specifically Civil 3D and HEC-RAS.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work as a team member with clear verbal and written communication.
- Willingness to learn from and communicate with experienced staff.

- Location: East Brunswick, New Jersey.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $21.00 - $28.00 per hour, depending on experience and location.
- Status: Full-time, hourly.
