About the role#
GAI Consultants, Inc. is hiring a Civil Engineering Intern to join our Civil and Environmental Business Sector. This is a full-time, temporary position based in Canton, Ohio. You will work alongside professional engineering staff to support project delivery, design, and permitting. This is a rolling, evergreen position, and hiring occurs as needed.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers and project managers with daily project tasks.
- Use computer programs to develop detailed designs.
- Conduct technical and feasibility studies.
- Ensure work products meet client, environmental, and safety requirements.
- Handle basic design challenges and refer complex issues to senior staff.
- Assist with Civil and Environmental designs and permitting.
- Travel locally or regionally for project work, estimated at 20-40% of the time.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in engineering, preferably Civil or Electrical Engineering.
- Junior or Senior academic standing.
- Beginning knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and civil engineering design tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong team collaboration, oral and written communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical reports, and governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to present information and respond to staff questions.
- Willingness to learn new programs and skills in Power Delivery.

- Location: Canton, Ohio.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Commitment: Full-time, 40 hours per week for a 3-month duration.
- Compensation: Paid internship.
