About the role#
The Student Nurse Clinical Placement provides an opportunity to function as part of the hemodialysis health care team. Under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, you will support the delivery of safe and effective dialysis therapy while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements. This role supports the facility's commitment to quality enhancement and patient satisfaction.
What you'll do#
- Support the mission and compliance programs of the organization.
- Assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean working environment.
- Set up and operate hemodialysis machines.
- Perform patient care tasks including taking vital signs and monitoring patient weight.
- Assist with lab preparation and surface disinfection of stations.
- Participate in daily huddles and quality improvement activities.
- Depending on the duration of the placement, duties may expand to include machine tear down, blood draws, and medication administration under preceptor guidance.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least three quarters of an ADN program, the junior year of a BSN program, or two years of a nursing school program.
- A strong desire to deliver superior patient care.
- Preferred experience in providing outstanding customer service.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent standing, bending, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
