Student Dietitian Clinical Placement

About the role#

This clinical placement offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a dialysis health care team. Interns work under the direct supervision of a Registered Dietitian to provide medical nutrition therapy while supporting the company's mission and compliance standards. This is a paid, full-time position with a rolling term.

What you'll do#

• Conduct nutrition interviews with patients and provide counseling on prescribed renal diets.
• Calculate diet prescription recommendations and assist in the development and implementation of nutrition plans of care.
• Collect data for comprehensive interdisciplinary assessments and practice writing monthly nutrition progress notes.
• Review monthly nutrition data with patients and caregivers.
• Create nutrition-related educational materials, such as handouts or lobby activities, for patients and staff.
• Participate in Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement meetings and other interdisciplinary team sessions.

What you'll need#

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, Health Administration, or Biomedical Sciences.
• Current enrollment in an accredited Coordinated Program in Dietetics.
• A strong desire to deliver superior patient care and provide excellent customer service.
• Ability to work effectively under the direct supervision of a Registered Dietitian.

• Note: Interns may be required to travel between assigned facilities and community locations.
