About the role#
Foundation is building dexterous hands and fingers for humanoid robots. This is a complex mechanical engineering challenge that requires precision, force transmission, and durability. As an intern, you will work directly on custom components for our platform. You will gain experience with real hardware, fabrication, and design iterations from your first day.
What you'll do#
- Design parts for robotic hands and fingers.
- Develop linkage geometry, tendon routing, and pulley systems.
- Run tolerancing analysis for mechanical components.
- Perform hands-on work with prototypes.
- Contribute to design iterations for custom components.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Strong understanding of kinematics and mechanism design.
- Proficient in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, CATIA, or equivalent parametric CAD.
- Understanding of tolerance analysis and GD&T.
- Basic FEA experience in SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS, or similar.

- The position is on-site and full-time.
- This is a paid internship with rolling start dates.
