Engineering Co-op, Distribution Projects

About the role#

This engineering co-op position offers the opportunity to engage with engineers and managers across various departments, providing insight into the operations and engineering functions at FortisBC. You will contribute to the Distribution Design & Operations group while gaining practical experience in utility infrastructure.

What you'll do#

• Perform site visits in coordination with the Distribution Design Group.
• Document standard work tasks and update training materials.
• Collaborate with the Design Group, Regulatory, and Operations teams to implement and update process documentation.
• Liaise with other utilities to assist in developing strategic departmental changes.
• Provide technical support to the Distribution Design & Operations group.
• Update distribution design tools and configurations using MS Excel or scripting methods.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Bachelor of Engineering program with an Electrical focus (third or fourth year required).
• Current enrollment in a university co-op program.
• A valid driver’s license and a current driver’s abstract.

Location & details#

• Location: Kelowna, British Columbia.
• Term: 8-month full-time co-op starting in Fall 2026.
• Work Modality: On-site.
