Test Software - Manufacturing Intern

About the role#

As a Test Software Manufacturing Intern, you will work at the intersection of hardware and software to support the production of professional 3D printers. You will be responsible for developing the tools that enable the calibration, validation, and testing of our electromechanical and robotic systems. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position for the Fall 2026 term.

What you'll do#

• Develop and maintain advanced software tools for calibration, validation, and rigorous testing of electromechanical and robotic systems.
• Own the full lifecycle of the test tools ecosystem, covering design, validation, documentation, deployment, and maintenance.
• Manage requirements and coordinate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers.
• Perform hardware modifications to printers and test setups to support experimental processes.
• Use data science techniques to analyze production lines and provide actionable insights to the operations team.
• Improve development and deployment processes to streamline software releases across global factories.

What you'll need#

• Experience developing applications using Python, SQL, and Linux.
• A strong understanding of software integration with embedded systems and complex electromechanical systems.
• Ability to develop and maintain software tools for testing.
• Experience with robotics.
• A creative approach to solving complex real-world problems.
• Ability to take features from initial concept through design and implementation.
• Preferred majors: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.

• Location: Boston (Somerville), Massachusetts.
• Term: Fall 2026 (September 14 – December 18, 2026).
• Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week).
• Compensation: $1,850—$2,200 USD bi-weekly.
• Modality: On-site.
