About the role#
As a Print Optimization Intern on the SLA Materials Team, you will focus on the print settings that bridge our materials, hardware, and software. You will gain hands-on experience with 3D printers and contribute to improving the performance and user experience of our systems.
What you'll do#
- Develop and test material settings to reach peak performance in areas like speed, surface quality, and supports.
- Evaluate existing material settings to find opportunities for improvement.
- Design and run experiments, using your findings to inform hardware or software updates.
- Operate high-accuracy measurement equipment to validate your project results.
- Communicate your test results effectively and on time.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Computer, Mechanical, Chemical, or Biomedical Engineering.
- Experience with data analysis and experimental design.
- Experience working with protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
- Enthusiasm for 3D printing technology.
- Bonus skills include experience with Python, Matlab, or CAD software like Solidworks, OpenScad, or Onshape.
Location & details#
- Term: Winter and Spring 2027 (January through April).
- Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Location: On-site in Somerville, Massachusetts.
- Compensation: This is a paid, salaried position with a weekly pay range of $1,425 to $1,750.
