Manufacturing Test Software Intern (Fall 2026)

About the role#

As a Manufacturing Test Software Intern, you will work at the intersection of hardware and software to develop tools that enable the production of professional 3D printers. You will own the full lifecycle of test tools, supporting calibration, validation, and data analysis across our manufacturing lines.

What you'll do#

• Develop and maintain software tools for calibration, validation, and testing of electromechanical and robotic systems.
• Manage requirements and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers.
• Perform hardware modifications to printers and test setups to support experimental processes.
• Own the full lifecycle of the test tools ecosystem, covering design, documentation, deployment, and maintenance.
• Use data science techniques to analyze production lines and provide operational insights.
• Improve development and deployment processes to streamline software releases across global factories.

What you'll need#

• Experience developing applications using Python, SQL, and Linux.
• Strong understanding of software integration with embedded systems and complex electromechanical systems.
• Ability to develop creative solutions to real-world engineering problems.
• Experience with robotics.
• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.

Location & details#

• Location: Somerville, Massachusetts (On-site).
• Term: Fall 2026 (September 14 through December 18, 2026).
• Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week).
• Compensation: Paid, salaried role with a bi-weekly pay range of $1,850—$2,200 USD.
