About the role#
This nine-week paid summer internship provides hands-on experience across Human Resources, Corporate Social Responsibility, and event planning. You will support the execution of community engagement and philanthropic initiatives while working directly with the Human Resources team. This position is based on-site at our headquarters in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
What you'll do#
- Work with the Human Resources team on projects related to talent acquisition and community impact initiatives.
- Assist in planning and executing the Sustainable Solutions Summit, with specific availability required for the week leading up to and the week of July 26 to 30, 2027.
- Coordinate Volunteer Month and other employee volunteer engagements.
- Build planning schedules, toolkits, documents, and presentations for HR and community events.
- Communicate with external stakeholders and monitor progress toward corporate sustainability and Community Reinvestment Act goals.
- Create content for internal newsletters, social media, and reports to highlight community initiatives.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to identify new approaches for philanthropic impact.
- Assist in recruitment efforts, including research for future internship programs.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma or GED and a Bachelor’s Degree or current enrollment in a Bachelor’s program.
- 0 to 1 year of relevant work experience and previous experience in event planning are preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to create compelling written and visual content for diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- A self-motivated, results-oriented approach with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
