About the role#
This role focuses on extracting clinical value from data produced by proprietary sensors and systems. You will work with our software team to deliver high-quality products that directly impact patient health. We prefer candidates available for a co-op term of 8 months or longer.
What you'll do#
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines to ingest, clean, transform, and consolidate data.
- Translate regulatory requirements into product specifications to ensure compliance.
- Develop backend services, APIs, and web interfaces that process data and present results.
- Assist in conducting technical risk and privacy impact assessments.
- Support other teams with software and data needs.
What you'll need#
- Knowledge of backend architecture design and its impact on development, security, and privacy.
- Strong understanding of data structures and database fundamentals.
- Proficiency in backend development, with a preference for Python.
- Experience building data pipelines or ETL processes.
- Familiarity with version-control software, preferably Git.
- Enrollment as a full-time student in a Canadian post-secondary program in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Health Administration.
- Status as a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person granted refugee status, as this position is supported by wage subsidy grants.

- This is an on-site position based in Kitchener, Ontario.
- The term begins in September 2026.
